About National Silver Academy (NSA)
The National Silver Academy (NSA) is a network of post-secondary education institutions (PSEIs) (i.e. ITE, polytechnics, universities and arts institutions) and community-based organisations that offer learning opportunities that are subsidised for seniors. Seniors and PRs aged 50 years and above can look forward to attending short courses and bite-sized courses that are exam free. For courses run by community-based organisations, the final fee payable – for both Singaporean and Permanent Resident seniors – takes into account the support given by the government to community-based organisations to develop and offer the short courses.
About The Singapore Association for Continuing Education (SACE)
The Singapore Association for Continuing Education (SACE) is a registered charity with MOE. It offers over 80 courses under the National Silver Academy, most of which are highly subsidised for Singaporeans & Permanent Residents aged 50 and above. SACE serves the continuing learning needs of adults of all ages.

Objective | This opens up creative ideas that one can explore in painting and making decorative or personalised gift items for friends and loves ones. Learners will be equipped with the techniques to be able to produce unique items using the right mediums and tools. |
Description | A craft workshop that teaches participants how to prepare surfaces like a cotton canvas, rock/pebbles, ceramic pots etc for painting. Using the correct paints and materials. It also teaches how to stylised images to simple design.
DAY ONE: Terracota Pot Painting and Paper Fan Painting DAY TWO: Tote bag Painting Material cost : $12.00 which will include a terracotta pot, a paper fan, a tote bag, brushes and paints. |
Trainer | Geri Koh
Geri studied graphic design in Temasek Polytechnic and with her design background, she is able to combine both art ideas into commercial items like decorative arts for gift ideas. She was a Lifeskills Trainer before with the People’s Association and taught at community centres. She has also participated in the Faber Castell roadshows, teaching coloured pencils workshop onsite. On her own, she teaches art and craft to all ages. Currently she has been teaching in SACE mainly art related workshops like drawing in different types of media. |
