About National Silver Academy (NSA)
The National Silver Academy (NSA) is a network of post-secondary education institutions (PSEIs) (i.e. ITE, polytechnics, universities and arts institutions) and community-based organisations that offer learning opportunities that are subsidised for seniors. Seniors and PRs aged 50 years and above can look forward to attending short courses and bite-sized courses that are exam free. For courses run by community-based organisations, the final fee payable – for both Singaporean and Permanent Resident seniors – takes into account the support given by the government to community-based organisations to develop and offer the short courses.
About The Singapore Association for Continuing Education (SACE)
The Singapore Association for Continuing Education (SACE) is a registered charity with MOE. It offers over 70 courses under the National Silver Academy, most of which are highly subsidised for Singaporeans & Permanent Residents aged 50 and above. SACE serves the continuing learning needs of adults of all ages.

Identify and implement practical money-saving strategies for potential savings and improvement. 3. Understand the fundamental concepts of risk and return in financial investments. Evaluate the characteristics and potential returns of different financial instruments, including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, as well as properties. 4. Learn the complexities of insurance and CPF. What are options available for seniors to protect, maintain and grow your wealth. 5. Identify key considerations and steps in the process of making a Will and establishing LPA. Understand the influence of money on personal relationships and its significance in legacy planning.By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to manage their finances effectively, save money, make informed investment decisions, navigate financial options available to seniors, and plan their legacies thoughtfully. |
| Trainer | Elaine Tan
Elaine was previously the CFO of a listed company where she handled the financial affairs of groups of global companies, overseeing the financial health of those companies through organizing the restructuring of the group, this includes the process of litigation, mediation and arbitration. Previous to that she had several years of internal audit experience with Deloitte Singapore. She is now a volunteer speech-craft coach for the prison inmates. and a trainer and Director of SACE. She is a SACE trainer for the course Money Wisdom, the coverage of the course includes: learn how to protect, maintain and enhance your financial assets, understand the complexities of insurance and CPF as intruments for retirement, risk and return of financial assets, how to manage your cashflow, saving tips, and scams prevention. This is quite a comprehensive course for personal finance. She had given public talks on Money Wisdom at the various local public libraries. |
